Greetings!
On behalf of the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Chi Tau Omega Chapter, welcome to our website! We serve the Conyers and Covington communities in Rockdale and Newton Counties in Georgia. I am blessed and grateful for the privilege to serve as the 6th President of Chi Tau Omega Chapter. Under my administration, Chi Tau Omega will continue to strengthen the bonds of sisterhood and continue the standard of exceptional service in the community. We will build upon Alpha Kappa Alpha’s rich legacy of service as we lead on the frontlines of change, education, and advocacy.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was founded in 1908, and is the first African American Sorority for college educated women. Under the leadership of our 31st International President & CEO, Danette Anthony Reed, we are “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service & Sisterhood". The 2022-2026 International Program Initiatives that support this theme are Strengthening Our Sisterhood, Empowering Our Families, Building Our Economic Wealth, Enhancing Our Environment, Advocating for Social Justice, and Uplifting Our Local Community.
Chartered by twenty-three remarkable women in 2004, Chi Tau Omega Chapter has grown to more than 400 members dedicated to service and sisterhood. We have hosted hundreds of community service projects and collaborated with many community partners in an effort to provide services that are impactful and sustainable. Since 2006, Chi Tau Omega Chapter has awarded over $300,000 in scholarships to male and female high school seniors in Rockdale and Newton Counties to promote, encourage, and prepare our next generation of leaders.
Chi Tau Omega Chapter has served as a community partner for almost 20 years. We will continue to build on these years of Sisterhood, Service, and Leadership as we impact change in not only our local community but the global world community at large.
